Sports club volunteers trained to perform CPR and operate the AED.
The club had just bought an AED, but the volunteers did not yet know how to use it. In a cardiac arrest at the club every second counts, so quick action was needed.
In an evening session the volunteers learned CPR and how to operate the AED, with plenty of practice on the CPR manikin. We also practised the scenario of an incident on the touchline or in the clubhouse.
The whole group is now able to act immediately in the event of a cardiac arrest. Everyone received a certificate in line with the Dutch Resuscitation Council guidelines.
