The background

The club had just bought an AED, but the volunteers did not yet know how to use it. In a cardiac arrest at the club every second counts, so quick action was needed.

Our approach

In an evening session the volunteers learned CPR and how to operate the AED, with plenty of practice on the CPR manikin. We also practised the scenario of an incident on the touchline or in the clubhouse.

The result

The whole group is now able to act immediately in the event of a cardiac arrest. Everyone received a certificate in line with the Dutch Resuscitation Council guidelines.

About this project

For a sports club in the region, BHV-Weesp ran CPR and AED training for the volunteers. In a single evening they learned CPR and how to operate the newly bought AED, with plenty of practice time on the manikin. The club can now act immediately in a cardiac arrest, with certificates in line with the Dutch Resuscitation Council guidelines.
